We are working with the fabulous Liz Ross (a TKH guest who has become a dear friend). She hosts off-road biking ‘retreats’ in the mountains. It was Liz’s idea to take TKH to Malaga. We (Brenda and I) could not do this, without her support, know-how and contacts.

We need a minimum of 10 guests to make this adventure come true.

We have space for 13 people
7 bedrooms; 6 twin & 1 single

COME and PLAY
Fun times in a Spanish villa with swimming pool + jacuzzi, a comfy bed to rest your head at night, breakfast, morning snacks, lunch, tea-time cake, welcome supper, Friday night paella with drinks, Sunday night supper-time with drinks + gift bag (2 skeins of yarn, pattern and extras).
About

RUNNING ORDER - Thursday

Fly from UK to Malaga, taxi from the airport to the villa (about an hour away). Liz works with a ‘taxi’ service who is willing to bring all guests to the villa (please see price below).

Arrive at the Villa, settle into your room, welcome supper at Gustavo’s restaurant (3 mins walk) - a 16th century converted convent in a middle of a charming square.

The heat of the Spanish evening sun will warm your soul and toes. Back to the villa for more fun times; chill, knit/crochet and chat. Bedtime (all bedrooms have en suite shower rooms + towels + TV).

Day one (Friday)

Breakfast at Gustavo’s - continental breakfast, with choice of omelette, meats, cheeses, little pastries etc..

Back to the villa for gift bags*, 11am coffee/tea, cold drinks, chocolates and biscuits, 1pm back to Gustavo’s for lunch, more making time, 4pm tea time treats, 6.30pm a traditional Spanish dish of paella (fish or vegetarian), dessert and wine and warmth. Back to the villa for more making. Bedtime.

*A special project will be designed by Belinda; something delicious with lots of techniques to conquer.

Day two (Saturday)

Breakfast and lunch at Gustavo’s.

After breakfast we can go and explore the town or stay in the villa and chill, grab an ice-cream, swim, knit and crochet some more or relax in the outside jacuzzi. Dinner (paid for by guest); eat alfresco in a beautiful courtyard of another local restaurant. Back to the villa for more making. Bedtime.

Day three (Sunday)

Breakfast and lunch at Gustavo’s.

Itinerary as Day two - lots of warmth and making fun-times. For suppertime there will be antipasto; meats and cheeses, olives and bread, dips and delicious munch and a glass or two of cava and/or wine (or soft drinks). More making and chatting. Tie-up loose ends. Our last night-time paddle. Bedtime.

Day four (Monday)

Breakfast at Gustavo’s.

Back to the villa to say our goodbyes. Car to the airport and we all fly back home.

If some guests have a later flight, or have wait for Gustavo's taxi service, we could have a coffee in a local café.

COST per GUEST

TWIN bedroom: £570 each
SINGLE occupancy: £650
There may be an option to stay another night (or more) if all guests in our little party agree. This will need to be arranged in advance. Any extension of accommadation will need to be paid for at the time of booking. Any meals for the additional stay will need to be paid for by each guest. If this is the case, I am happy to arrange with the owner of the Villa. If you are interested please let Belinda know.

HOW TO BOOK

If you are excited about being part of this woolly Spanish adventure, please email info@theknittinghotel.co.uk. We will send you a Booking Form to complete, information regarding deposit and T&Cs.

Please do not book any travel and/or flights until your place has been confirmed.

Important Biz

TRAVEL TO SPAIN - Guests have to make their way from the UK to Malaga airport and return at their own expense.

AIRPORT TAXI in Spain (paid for by guest) - The cost is £180 return but Gustavo can carry 4 passengers, so effectively the journey there and back could be as little as £45/person if people fly into Malaga at the same time and/or are prepared to wait at the airport for other guests to arrive.

All guests must take out travel, holiday, medical and cancellation insurance as a bare minimum. We will need to see a copy of the policy schedule at the time of paying the balance of the retreat (approx. 4 months before the event).

COVID CHECKS - It is likely there will be some sort of Covid check(s) at UK and/or Spanish airports. It is up to each guest to ensure they comply with Government guidelines at the time of travel. Each guest is responsible for funding any necessary covid related tests or quarantining.

WHAT TO BRING

TBC - needles and notions for the 'summer-time project'.

Your own knitting and/or crochet projects, Swimming attire, a pair of comfy walking shoes (for wandering around the village or further), phone/tablet charger (European plug compatible), lots of suncream and a hat!

THE VILLA

The villa is in the province of Malaga at the foot of the natural park of the Almijara mountains. A typical, small, white, unspoilt village with winding cobbled streets and houses with balconies full of flowers.

The villa has a capacity for 13 people with 7 rooms each with an independent bathroom, TV and air-conditioning. The villa also has a living room, kitchen, free Wi-Fi, swimming pool, outdoor jacuzzi, a large terrace and breathtaking views.

SAFETY

We take guests’ safety very seriously and will do our utmost to ensure your well-being during your time with us. However, guests should be aware that their personal safety is ultimately their own responsibility.

Any trip or excursion outside of the 'TKH villa' is taken at your own risk.
