A real knitted Moebius is a thing of great beauty and one of the most satisfying things to knit. Once the Moebius cast on is learned, the rest is simply knitting or purling in the round.

On this course, I will teach you:
The true Moebius cast on. How to work the Moebius from cast on, to completion. How to create a simple but lovely Moebius shoulder Cowl. How to make many variations of a Moebius in the future.

To take part you really only need basic knitting skills – to be able to cast on, off, knit, and purl. These are the only skills that you will use to knit the basic Moebius I am teaching you. You also need a sense of adventure, lovely, open mind, and to be prepared to feel amazing when you add this skill to your repertoire.

You will need:
A 5mm circular needle that is 150cm long, measured from tip-to-tip. I recommend fixed cable circulars for Moebius knitting but interchangeables are also fine. A stitch marker. 2 x 50g balls of any DK yarn – plain, variegated, or mix up your shades. 1 x 25g ball of Rowan Kidsilk Haze (or similar silk/mohair yarn) – optional, one of the pattern variations has Kidsilk Haze stripes and a Kidsilk Haze ruffle at the edge.

We’ll combine some of the traditional mochila techniques, with modern colours of your choice and geometric shapes that you’ll be able to customise if desired, to make this eye catching project.

Working with a little hook and a mix of purl threads and fine cottons yarns and silks we’ll experiment with jewellery-making: beads and earrings, bracelets, and necklaces. We’ll make flowers and leaves, tassels, baubles, pompoms, and frills and have fun playing and experimenting with how these can be used to decorate, embellish, patch, enhance, and adorn.

Jo fell in love with making tiny crochet when she went on a family holiday with only a cabin bag allowance! she couldn’t take her usual mahoosive bag of yarns and hooks she usually travelled with (just in case!) and managed to squeeze a rainbow of threads, sparkly and neon sock yarns and tiny hooks, scissors and beads into a very small project bag. She hopes to inspire you to do the same.

Jo never travels anywhere without yarns and hooks. It makes life so much better, a train delay, appointment running late, a bus journey or just sitting catching your breath in the park can all be turned into joyful mindful times.

Materials for workshop will be supplied: yarns and threads and buttons and ribbons etc.. Each guest will receive their own personal Goodie Bag full of their favourite colours and embellishments - chosen from Jo's delicious pile of soft delights.br>
